Sacred Genre Creation as Literary Reclamation: Feminist Genre-Building in the Post-Canon Era
Author’s abstract
This research paper explores the emergence of original literary genres authored by women as a form of sacred feminist reclamation. In particular, it focuses on Spiritual Feminist Literature, a genre created by M. Dangi, and Spiritual Feminist Theatre, a registered performative branch of that genre. Drawing from feminist literary theory, genre studies, and lived authorship, this paper argues that genre creation is a form of truthtelling, voice restoration, and structural transformation. It affirms the importance of genre authorship by women as a legitimate contribution to global literature and collective healing.
